From your often MIA blogger, I wanted to share a little table I put together earlier in celebration of Independence Day.
I don't really have any Fourth of July decorations so I pulled from things I've got around the house to make a quick centerpiece.....a straw purse with a woven flag on the front which I lined with antique lace and filled with ivy, a Blue transferware plate depicting Betsy Ross sewing the American flag and an antique book called 'The Story of a Great Nation / Our Country's Achievements'.
The book was published in 1886 and contains over a thousand pages, several hundred engravings and a vast biographical portrait gallery including each President and a copy of Thomas Jefferson's handwritten Declaration of Independence. It is a fascinating book with a Chronological table of events in American History.
The table was set with a vintage plaid throw, red gingham napkins, blue gingham flatware, patriotic themed blue transfer ware, and goblets with George Washington cameos on the front.
The red plates underneath are Spode Primrose. They are beautiful plates that have a Kaleidoscope type of pattern on the front. I have 8 or 12 place settings of this and they will be going in my Etsy shop soon.
Wising Every One of YOU a Very Safe and Happy Fourth of July

ReplyDeleteNancy, I don't know how I missed this post. I've missed you! Hope all is good with you and your sweet family. Your table is as pretty as ever. I seem to be stuck on red, white, and blue for my summer tables. Time to move into a different mode. '-)
