A Tablescape of Purple Polychrome Transferware

One of my favorite color combination's is purple and amber and I have a thing for amber glass.  I don't have alot of it but I'd like to!

I had so much fun creating this tablescape tonight!      I have some antique, purple polychrome transferware pieces by Ridgway that I've been dying to do a tablescape with.   In addition, I have a silk floral arrangement I'd made up sometime back using gold, purple, and burgundy flowers and greenery.  I think it compliments the dishes so nicely.  I used two lace trimmed, pale gold window sheers as my scrunched up table runner.  This is the same one I used at this tea here.

I began with these stunning hand beaded, purple placemat chargers from  Always Elegant.  This website is fabulous!  They carry the prettiest hand beaded table accessories including napkin rings and coasters to match the placemats.  There is a gamut of colors to choose from...it was hard to decide on just one but I've been conjuring up purple tablescapes in my mind for weeks so I had to go with these!

I chose this antique, Circa 1891 set of polychrome purple transferware by Ridgway in the Oriental pattern to go with the beaded wares I got at Always Elegant.

I used 9" plates and topped them with the matching handled soup bowls and saucers.

.  Always Elegant sells these gorgeous organza napkins so I put one inside each of my gold napkins trimmed with amber beadwork.  I love the hint of sheer purple.  I finished with the hand beaded napkin rings that match the chargers.  If you're hosting any large parties, receptions or weddings...Always Elegant has a huge selection of organza napkins, table runners, garlands, candle holders and beaded table accessories.  I am hooked on this place!

The tall, amber, cut glasses I've had for a looong time.  I paired them with these pretty ribbed amethyst footed glasses placed atop one of the beaded coasters.

My Mom inherited this decanter from her Great Aunt and Uncle.  I've had it displayed in a curio cabinet for years as it's sentimental to me.  The same company, Always Elegant, where the beaded table accessories came from also sells these beaded wine bottle covers.   I used a purple one and draped it over the decanter then placed it on top of a vintage Amber glass cake stand.  I remember my Mom serving cakes from this...and now I do...but tonight it's holding a decanter to be filled with a salad dressing.  I love mixing old and new and love using things inherited from loved ones.

I ran an extension cord under the runner (window panels) and the placemats so it would not show and used my garage sale, $3 glass lamps at each end of the table.  I draped some amber and amethyst beaded grapes around the top.  I think it casts a nice glow.

I also had these sort of gothic looking amber glass votive holders near each place setting.  I played around with these.  I used my amber cake stand, a small transferware plate, some greenery and the beaded coaster to make a little centerpiece that could be used later.  I love mixing it all up and using the unexpected.

These sheer organza items are perfect to add a touch of elegance to a party or reception.  I had one purple garland to play around with and tied a big bow on the back of one of the chairs.  I then added some of the amber and purple grape beads to the center.   Always Elegant sells these too...they're very inexpensive and could also be used to make swags along a table or between pews at a wedding as they are quite long.  I'd love to have an outdoor tea party and use some of the pink ones.  Aren't they pretty?
