My Living Room Before & After

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do...but how much love we put in that action.
~Mother Teresa~

I apologize in advance for being so short on pictures.
I plan to repost my living room later but almost all of my before, during and after photos are on my computer which is in the shop and I hope I'm able to salvage them because I fear the computer itself a gonner.  Second one in about a year for me! ;-(
I've been working on a tiny laptop, and sharing it with the kids for the past couple of weeks or so.

Anyway...here is our living room

BEFORE

and
AFTER

Six hours.  That is exactly how long it took my Mom, and me with a little help from Ashton to completely disassemble this room, paint it, and yes, put it all back together again.   When I say disassemble the room, I mean it.  When we moved in here I had thought this might be the last room to paint because it wasn't all that bad, compared to the rest of the house, so I had completely placed my furniture, filled my curio cabinet, hung the paintings, drapes and of course some of my transferware plates.

Then one day around noon I decided the darkness had lingered on here long enough and I couldn't take it anymore.   My Mom happened by at just the right time. She's usually got a green light when it comes to helping me decorate, so we hopped in her car, went to get paint, brought it home and started painting. Oopsie daisy...wrong color.  Back to Walmart for the right color, then back home, started painting at 2:30 just as Shawn, Michael and Ethan left for the restaurant, then finished painting and putting everything back in place at exactly 8:30, a full  hour before the boys and Shawn returned.

You should have seen their eyeballs when they walked in the house!  I just love doing that kind of stuff to people!
They were completely shocked and could not believe a transformation could take place so quickly.

I will post more pictures of this room later, showing all angles of the room, and some close ups of things, you know, like transferware!

  10. Nancy what an amazing transformation and I am blown away that it was done in such record time!! Gosh it would take me days to get it back in shape after painting! Love the color you chose and really like the way you set the chairs and table in front of the fireplace.

I am going to have to remember this in the summer months. Getting ready to start or wood burning stove up again here in Colorado so that arrangement would quite work now.
