I have had bloggers block for the past two weeks! ;-) I do have lots of projects and things to share but simply haven't been able to get to them. I never want to blog because I feel I have to, so when I'm not around it's usually because I'm busy with my family, and they are always first to me.
My two oldest boys, Michael and Ethan, moved back in with us for a while and we've been re-arranging and sorting through their things, deciding which of them they want to keep here and which they'll keep in storage temporarily until they move into their own place again. Many trips to and from their storage unit have been made!
One of the patterns I have been waiting to use in a table setting this Fall is this Windsor Fruit pattern by Johnson Brothers.
The pattern is a melange of hand painted fruits and flowers. Windsor Fruit is often confused with Harvest, below, which has a more elaborately detailed border. The shapes of the plates are also different from one another. Harvest is about 3/4" larger than the Windsor Fruit plate and in much higher demand, as prices indicate. The Harvest plates sell for as much as $100, especially this time of year, whereas the Windsor Fruit plates sell for $15-25 a piece.
I think they are both beautiful! I have a few pieces of each listed in my Etsy store, English Transferware.

I really was not sure how I wanted to set the table so I just began playing. About fifteen minutes later, this is what I had come up with.
I recently found a floral arrangement I'd put together a while back and packed away.
The little scarecrows that are tucked into the arrangement made me think of patchwork plaid. I didn't want to go that bold on the table so I began draping a few matching throws over the table to create a patchwork look.
Once everything was in place, I think the goal was achieved without being too bold a look.
Both glasses are T J Maxx finds. I love the color combination of the ones on the left, amber/orange feet, purple stems and green goblets....perfect for Fall!
Flatware is Hampton, San Remo in ivory.
Around the floral arrangement I added some pillar candles and a cutout pumpkin votive holder that my sister gave me for my birthday last year.

As beautiful as both designs are, I prefer the simplistic design of the Windsor Fruit for your tablescape. The color, eggplant, is my favorite in the purple family and it goes so well with the fall colors. I need to do me some shopping at TJ Maxx!! Pretty tablescape, btw.

Nancy, this is just lovely...very soft, muted colors & I honestly think the Windsor Fruit is a prettier set than the more expensive one. I think one can appreciate the scalloped edge better on the Windsor Fruit & it doesn't look so "old fashioned" as Harvest. JMHO

Both of the patterns of the transferware are beautiful, and your table is gorgeous! I like the use of the different colored stems and the arrange is perfect. The who scheme is wonderful for Fall!
