A Tablescape for a Client and Moss Topiaries

I did this setting for a customer who purchased these plates and allowed me to keep them long enough to complete a table with them.   Thank you for being so patient Donna!  I hope that you, and everyone else, finds some inspiration and enjoys the photos of this table!

The blue transferware plates have a bouquet of flowers with a butterfly and bird fluttering amongst them.  

Before I put this table together, I'd made up a bunch of reindeer moss topiaries for my shop and had them on the dining room table when Michael, my 22 year old son, came in and remarked about what a neat centerpiece they made, assuming I'd put them on the table for that reason.   I muttered ''uh huh" and sort of dismissed his comment continuing on with what I was doing which was cleaning up my topiary mess to prepare for the table setting.   About half and hour later,  when I was setting the table I thought to myself,  "Michael's right, these topiaries do look cute as a centerpiece".  My little decorator!    Don't tell him I said that.

I changed the table up from what I'd planned originally (I seem to do that alot) and used the handled willow chargers which are so casual because I felt they went with the natural look and feel of the topiaries.  So thanks to Michael for the idea! =)  

Right after listing the topiaries to my Etsy shop I got a large custom order to make some of these for a wedding that will be decorated in an Alice and Wonderland theme. That sounds fun!  I will be working on completing those this weekend.  She's having me make them all in teacups, similar to this one.

I wish I had more than three place settings of this butterfly flatware but since I don't...

I opted for the next closest thing that I've got eight of,  and that is this set of Napolean Bee flatware.  It goes with the butterfly and flowers on the plate...don't you think?

To give this table a little different look for evening dining I made  two very minor adjustments.  Can you tell what they are?

  


 I  converted my napkin rings (yes they are transferware napkin rings!).... 

...into tea light holders and placed them at each setting.  
They are perfectly sized to hold tealight candles!

The other minor change I made was to tuck the napkins into the glasses.

I found that I really like the touch of blue in this room!
