Would you combine the bold colors of orange and blue for your Thanksgiving table?
Blue and Orange are opposites on the color wheel,
which means they are complementary to one another.
So I say why not?
Do you think George and Martha were opposites?
After all, don't opposites attract?
I think so
Trevor would love a blue and orange Thanksgiving table...no doubt about that.

I absolutely love how the two colors make the table sparkle! I would so totally do the same thing. Bsides we're in Denver and those are Bronco colors!

ReplyDeleteI love those blue turkey plates. I'll look forward to the documentary. I like blue and orange together. But when I was a kid, my cousin I had matching swimsuits and they were dark purple and orange and we hated them! We could not believe her Mom had bought them for us.

ReplyDeleteI've actually been decorating for Thanksgiving with blue and orange for 3 years now. Blue and white Spode Winter's Eve dishes and cobalt blue stemware on a rusty orange tablecloth and fall colored plaid napkins. The centerpiece is a blue and white soup tureen loaded with mini pumpkins and colorful gourds and sits on a burlap tablerunner. I get just as excited putting it out each year as I did the first time!

DeleteI would set my table with those vivid colors in a second, if I had all those beautiful goodies! I love,love,love how you worked in the fall colors with the blue! It really opened my eyes. My wedding china is blue and white and I don't use it enough because I always think, it doesn't look like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. Can't wait get out of the box with my china!! Thanks!

My son is a gator as he went to U of Florida. Just saw your son's t shirt and looks
like it is from something state college! oh well..............lol

What an exquisite table! You have featured my very favorite color of dishes. I have never seen blueware with a turkey motif. They're simply wonderful. I have a collection and love displaying it with orange pumpkin accents and autumn leaves.

They go together beautifully! I have blue dishes. It would be nice to do something like this! If I could do a Thanksgiving buffet sort of dinner I would but unfortunately I have to fit most of the food on the table too but oh my this is just lovely lovely lovely :)
ReplyDeleteOrange and blue....are you a Gator fan? Seriously, I think you can mix anything you want to especially when the pieces are as lovely as the ones on your table. In addition, there is a very spirited feel which is just right for a family gathering.

ReplyDeleteThank you. It's a funny story how I found them. If you saw the tablescape I did recently with the brown plates like these I told about how I bought the plates from a lady who bought them from a dealer that I sold them to about 5 or 6 years ago! I bought these blue ones from her also.
