The Split Personality Transferware Plate

I had to show you all this plate!  You're looking at one plate, not two halves of plates.  This is an extremely rare, early 19C  two color transfer ware sample plate in a Willow pattern sourced by Marion Harris.  It's now housed at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum.

Worthwhile Wednesdays

  1. Fun to see this, Nancy. Hope your summer is off to a great start.

  2. Definitely a rare sight. Glad you shared as I would have never known about it.

  3. That's quite a curiosity - perfect for those days when one is indecisive!

  4. Huh...a plate with a split personality......if they'd make a whole set I bet
it'd be a patriotic sell out. Imagine the possibilities..........

  5. wow, that is something I have never seen!

I love hearing from my readers. I appreciate the time you take to post a comment and I read them all.
