My Country Christmas Tablescape in a 6 page Magazine Layout!

I gotta admit, it's a pretty cool feeling to open a magazine and see my tablescape, my pictures and my article featured in a 6 page layout….  

…and see my name listed as a contributor inside the cover.

Yep, Pretty cool indeed!

Not long ago the editor of Creating Vintage Charm, Sonia Crouse, spotted a Fall tablescape I had posted to my Instagram feed and contacted me asking if I'd be interested in submitting it for their December/Christmas issue.   You all may remember the table as it's been a popular one on my blog.

I told Sonia that I could recreate the table for Christmas with a few minor adjustments.  

Do you notice any of them? 

In the original table setting I had only the bubble glass tumblers.  In the Christmas version I added vintage Snowflake iced tea glasses and used them right alongside the new bubble glasses.

I have a few sets of the bubble tumblers for sale in my online shop.

Other small changes to each place setting included swapping out flatware.  In the Christmas version, I opted for antler handled steak knives.

Each napkin has a personalized keepsake stocking ornament which serve double duty as place card holders.

You may recall from the original table version or may notice now that in both settings I used two different sets of transferware plates,  one by Royal Doulton and one by Myott.  Each has a fruit and floral motif' which makes them suitable year round.  

This photo below is a full page in the magazine.  You've probably seen these bark pillar candles before on my blog as they are some of my favorites that I use year round, but especially in the Fall and Winter. To elevate the candles amongst the winter greens and berries I put them on antique glass dessert dishes I inherited from my Great Aunt and Uncle and filled them with pecans that I gathered from our yard.  The property our house we are now living in sits on was at one time, I believe, part of a pecan orchard.  There is a park less than two houses away and it has rows of pecan trees.  People pick the pecans from the ground all the time!  I like to decorate with them so I scooped up an entire bag for myself.

In addition to Sonia asking me to write a little about how I put the table together and a brief introduction to transferware she's published some bonus photos of the transfer process which many of you I know would love to have!
